Dmitar Zvonimir ruled from 1075 to 1089 and is first mentioned in sources in 1070 as a ban and co-ruler of Petar Kresimir IV. Otherwise, it is assumed that he originally ruled Slavonia, which he received from the Hungarian Arpadovics. After his coronation as Croatian king in the Church of St. Peter in Solin in 1075, Zvonimir moved his capital to Knin.
