The Guardhouse
The Souc'h Guardhouse was built in 1747.
It is part of a system of defensive fortifications along the French coast, the construction of which began during the reign of Louis XIV.
Under the command of a sentry commander, scouts signaled suspicious movements of enemy ships by raising flags, firing fire, or firing blank cartridges.
It had not been used for the 18th century and was restored in 1997 by the Conseil Génera du Finistère with the assistance of the municipality of Plouhinec.
