The church of San Michele in Trebbana, located in the municipality of Marradi, on the border with Tredozio, is an ancient building. Originally owned by the bishops of Faenza, in 1063 it was donated to San Pier Damiani for the hermits of Gamogna. The hermitage, together with the monastery of Gamogna, has always been part of the so-called "Piviere di San Valentino", made up of more than 20 parish churches, which were important points of reference for both the social and religious life of the Tredozio and Modigliana valleys . Near the church stands a centuries-old oak tree of imposing dimensions. (Source: romagnatoscanaturismo.it)
Trebbana is currently fully usable again, restored and equipped for excursions and a refreshment point. In an atmosphere of absolute tranquility and in a highly suggestive natural context, the hermitage functions as a hospitality center with the possibility of overnight accommodation and use of the kitchen for up to 50 people. The name Trebbana derives from the three roads that lead up to here. Two roads are in the Tuscan part that passes through Marradi and Lutirano, while the third road crosses the Romagna side from Tredozio. (Source: discomfortzone.com)
