The Endless Bridge was first exhibited in 2015 in connection with the “Sculptures by the Sea” event. The people of Aarhus were so enthusiastic about the work of art that, with the help of the city, it was established as a permanent solution - as a work of art and as an incomparably great bathing jetty.
The Endless Bridge was designed by architects Niels Povlsgaard and Johan Gjødes.

Something very special: there is a pier right on the shore.
But:
The bridge makes a complete circle. Something completely new to try out.

The idea behind the bridge was to restore contact between the city, the bay and the coast as it was before World War II, when steamboats sailed between the Riis Forest to the north and Marselisborg Forest to the south. Then in the Varna Palace there was a footbridge where the citizens of the city could get off and go on a trip to the forest.
