Along the way on the castle lead are regularly blocks with the Mainz wheel and the year 1777. This reminds us of the Erthal Obelisk on the Erfurt Cathedral Square from the same year. The landmarks and the obelisk were built out of the same occasion, the visit of the Elector of Mainz and sovereign Karl-Friedrich Joseph von Erthal. Both the city of Erfurt and the Wanderslebener Gleiche and Mühlberg belonged at this time to the diocese of Mainz.

On the entire Schlossleite one encounters again and again old boundary stones with the Mainzer coat of arms from 1777. The year number is clearly recognizable on the back of the stone.

The boundary stone (like most of the others in the area) shows the "Erfurt wheel" on one side. The castles were owned by the city.
