Goldenstedt - Parish Church of St. Gorgonius. The missionary work in the community of Goldenstedt may have begun as early as the 11th century, originating from the south. The patron saint, St. Gorgonius, refers to the Diocese of Minden, which, in the 9th century, also took over the patronage of St. Gorgonius with relics. This diocese extended as far as Twistringen, about 15 km from Goldenstedt. Later, with the establishment of the Visbek missionary center, the authority passed to Corvey Monastery.

Before the current church, there were several stone buildings and, presumably, initially a wooden church. The current parish church was built between 1908 and 1910, replacing a rather unprepossessing and small church.
