De Plava Voda springs from a large crevice at the foot of a mountain slope, located in a narrow depression in the Ćaršija district (the old town) of Travnik, in the heart of the city. Directly above the spring rises the old citadel of Travnik: Travnik Castle. The river flows through a part of the old town and flows into the Lašva river after about 300 meters, near the eastern city gate.
