The Alternative Wolf and Bear Park in Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach in the Black Forest is the second of its kind in Germany after Worbis and was opened in 2010. Eight brown bears and three wolves now live in the idyllic Wolftal.
Anyone who visits the Alternative Wolf and Bear Park in the Black Forest will not get to know an ordinary zoo. It is an extraordinary project of the STIFTUNG für BÄREN. And as you can see from the word "alternative", there are a few things different in this park.
Above all, it offers bears that used to live in captivity or have been abandoned a new and species-appropriate home. The first bear in the park was Jurka, the mother of Bruno, who was shot in 2006. Eight brown bears and three wolves have found their "retirement home" in the ten hectare site. ... "

Great, species-appropriate park for the animals taken in. Simply beautiful in the middle of the nature of the Black Forest.

Park for wolves, bears and lynxes looking for a new home. Most bears come from catastrophic husbandry conditions and are given a second life here that is as species-appropriate as possible for this park. Accordingly, the park cannot be compared to a normal zoo or animal park. There are signs everywhere, for example, explaining how to react to certain behavior of the animals. Admission is relatively high at € 9 per person (€ 8.5 with the KONUS guest card), but worth every penny due to the great animal welfare project that is supported with this! A visit is highly recommended!
