The Swamp Fox Passage is the longest section of the Palmetto Trail, coming in at 47 miles. Along this trail you'll pass through four distinct ecosystems, including the swamps that Revolutionary War General Francis Marion used to escape the British. In fact, the trail's name "Swamp Fox" is taken from General Marion, who was given the nickname after his exploits.
