Right next to the bog oak is the bog oak field at a fishing pond. The insect hotel was at the time of my Wernaderung still uninhabited, but that can still change. :-) A bank invites you to linger.

Cycling

A few 100 m south of the Weser Church in Windheim, on the street "Unter den Weiden", near the "Seebrede" fishing pond, is the Moor Eichenplatz. A roughly 3,000-year-old oak trunk that was recovered during gravel quarrying is reminiscent of the original floodplain forests in the wide Weser river valley, which flowed in wide loops and with many side arms before it was straightened.
