Construction of the church began after 1425. In 1834, a brick tower was added to replace an older wooden structure. The church was built of fieldstone up to halfway up the walls, and brick above in Gothic bond. It was built on a rectangular plan, 25.8m x 15m, without a separate chancel. The walls feature pointed-arch windows and blind windows in an alternating rhythm. The gable roof rests on stepped gables. The church retains the 15th-century perimeter walls of the nave and sacristy. Only the tower is neo-Gothic, dating from the 19th century.
