Olsztyn's old town is small, but with a number of well-preserved Gothic monuments, such as the Teutonic castle, St. Jacob's Cathedral, the High Gate, and the old Town Hall. Numerous colorful townhouses with postwar decorations showing workers and their tools are a unique leftover of the socialist era.
