The Church of Saint-Laurent is located in Saint-Laurent-de-Belzagot, in Charente. It is one of six Romanesque churches in the new commune of Montmoreau.
It is situated in the heart of a very hilly landscape, perched atop a hill, and offers a beautiful view of the center of Montmoreau.

It was built at the end of the 12th century. It was the place of worship of a priory, one of the establishments built by the Order of Cluny on the roads to Compostela to provide spiritual and material assistance to pilgrims. In 1292, the order's supervisory priors spoke of the priory of Sanctum Laurencum de Bercegolio. They reported that the monk "Lambert," who represented the Prior, was accused of tyranny and injustice towards the monks of this priory.
In 1820, part of the nave and the bell tower collapsed. All that remains of the old church facade is a beautiful four-arched doorway, beautifully enhanced by the restoration of the village. Beyond the void left by the collapsed nave, a new facade with a semicircular doorway opens onto the rest of the Romanesque nave. This is evidenced by a bay of the old building and the semicircular arch preceding a semicircular apse with a cul-de-four vault, decorated with arches, three of which are pierced with bays. The square, single-story bell tower is topped by an octagonal spire covered with slate. This renovation was carried out in the 1880s.

The portal of the old pier is well preserved.
