The Innsbrucker Hütte (2,369 m) is picturesquely situated below the Habicht in the Stubai Alps and is a popular starting point for alpine tours. From the Gschnitz Valley (parking lot at the Gasthof Feuerstein), it can be reached in about 3 hours via a well-marked trail with an elevation gain of approximately 1,000 meters. The hut is comfortably furnished, offers regional cuisine, and magnificent views of the surrounding mountains.

The ascent of the Habicht (3,277 m) begins directly at the hut. The route is varied: initially along scree paths, later over blocky rocks and fixed ropes. Despite being rated UIAA I, the summit climb is challenging and requires sure-footedness, a head for heights, and alpine experience – especially in the upper section and where there are snowfields. The hike takes about 3 hours with an elevation gain of approximately 900 meters.

At the top, an impressive 360° panorama of the Stubai and Zillertal Alps and as far as the Dolomites awaits. The descent follows the same route.
