The Joanneumsviertel is a modern museum and cultural center in the heart of Graz. It was opened in 2011 and connects several institutions of the Universalmuseum Joanneum. Among other things, it houses the Neue Galerie Graz, the Natural History Museum, and the Styrian State Library (Steiermärkische Landesbibliothek). The spacious courtyard and modern architecture create an exciting contrast to the historic buildings of the old town. The Joanneumsviertel is a popular place for art, culture, and education.
