Hiking
Veltdalshytta is a large cabin set in the heart of the Tafjordfjella range. Superb summit hikes from here include Tordsnose, Karitinden and Naushornet. The traverse from here to Pyttbua over Karitinden, Høgstolen and Puttegga is a Tafjordfjella classic.
The cabin is also just a 15-minute walk from here to the historic Fieldfarehytta. This is a replica of the cabin Joacim Rønneberg, Olav Aarsæther and Birger Strømsheim built and stayed in for the famous sabotage mission, Operation Fieldfare, during the last two years of the Second World War.
