Weogufka State Forest spans 240 acres across Coosa County. The main attraction is Flagg Mountain, which sits at 1,000 feet and is said to be the southernmost Appalachian peak. The Flag Mountain Lookout Tower was built in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, along with ten shelters on Flagg Mountain, five of which still stand today.
