Henry's Woods gets its name from the philanthropist Henry Uihlein. Uihlein lived in Lake Placid and was an avid supporter of local sports. In 2005, the Uihlein Foundation turned this undeveloped land into a trail system to support outdoor recreation. The property continues to grow with newly built trails, including its neighboring system of trails Heaven Hill.
