The Cheisacher is a ridge in Aargauer Tafeljura. It rises above the height of the Ampferen, the transition between Mönthal and Sulz. The "Sternwarte Cheisacher Observatory" has been operating its astronomical observation station here since 1966. It is located at an altitude of about 670 meters above sea level in the village of Sulz. Just outside the light-filled settlements and slightly above the worst haze layers, there are good conditions for undisturbed view of the sky.
