Since 1895, a cozy restaurant has been located on the summit, open year-round except Fridays. The main Jena-Eisenach hiking trail passes here.
In 1907, a Bismarck memorial was erected on the mountain next to the restaurant by the "mountain community." The Bismarck medallion, which is now present again, has been reattached to the limestone wall since 1995, after being secured by the innkeeper's family from 1945 until after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
