A great place. For a small fee, you can climb the rocks if you're not afraid of heights. You can also celebrate Walpurgis Night here. There's also a beautiful small lake next to it.

The tour to the Extern Steinen was worth it.
You have to see it and the non-alcoholic wheat beer tasted wonderful in the restaurant. People even bathed in the lake. Unfortunately it was a very warm summer day and this attraction was very crowded. But it was nice anyway.
Maybe it's not that busy during the week.

In the northeastern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, located in the southern part of the district of Lippe or in the Teutoburg Forest, the Externsteine belong to Horn-Bad Meinberger district Holzhausen-Externsteine, which is approximately 1.1 km (as the crow flies) northwest.
Stairs carved into the Externsteine to facilitate the ascent (2012)
The rocks are part of the middle mountain chain of the Teutoburg Forest. They are located in the southeast of this low mountain range adjacent to the Eggegebirge. Towards the northwest, the Externsteine go directly into the rising forested slopes of the Bärensteins and to the southeast directly into those of Knickenhagens over. Directly past the rock group flows in the catchment area of the Weser the Wiembecke, which is dammed at the foot of the rocks to the "Wiembecketeich".
