The Seminova Gora churchyard by the Pechuga River probably existed already in the 16th century. The ancient route to Vladimir passed along the Pechuga, so two churchyards had stood on this small river for a long time: Veretevsky and Seminogorsky. By 1843, the stone church in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was completed. During the Soviet era, the churchyard church was robbed, and in 1937, ancient documents and books, as well as ancient church vessels, were confiscated from it. These valuables were transferred to the Kovrov museum, since the churchyard was then part of the Kovrovsky District of the Ivanovo Region.
