If you drive on the Werra-Radfernweg the center of the Ermschwerd you come directly to Ermschwerder castle (16th century) in the partly imposing half-timbered construction over. At the back of the castle is a staircase tower. Today, the castle is available for various purposes. Among other things, a kindergarten is housed in it as well as several apartments and a large hall serves festive events.
