I would NOT recommend the Bavarian Odenwald for gravel bikers or even touring cyclists. The roads may be OK for racing cyclists, but the forest and forestry paths mostly have the loose granite gravel that is common in the Odenwald. If it is not rolled down, it is not fun for most mountain bikers to cycle
