Until the early 19th century, the oratory was an important symbol of devotion and a destination for constant pilgrimages, particularly in the month of May.
In 1816, the structure passed into private hands, beginning a progressive and serious decline.
The historic building featured a gabled facade preceded by a portal with a masonry arch, two rectangular rooms, and a small bell tower.
