The construction of the beautiful Cathedral of Saint Augustine started in 1776. Back in the day, Tucson was just a small town. When the population increased the church was reconstructed several times ending up with its Mexican baroque style you can see today. It is now the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson.
