The Hörnumer southern tip sinks slowly in the sea. Every year, considerable parts of the Odde are eroded by storms and disappear forever. Sooner or later, experts agree that the narrow southern tip will break off. Although the Landesbetrieb für Küstenschutz, the Schleswig-Holstein National Park and Marine Protection Authority and the Wattenmeer Ark are doing their utmost to preserve the Hörnum-Odde, the condition of the southern tip is scary.

Yes, although the southern tip is getting smaller and smaller, it's still worth it to circle around. There is a lot to see, eg. For example, the lighthouse, the southern tip, the ode with bollards and lots of nature. A preferred time does not exist because it is always beautiful, of course, the sunset has always something special to offer.

The southern tip of Sylt is a very scenic and varied landscape.
If you are in Hörnum, you should definitely walk around the southern tip.
What you get offered is a very beautiful beach landscape, great views of the Hörnumer harbor, you can watch the ferries over to Amrum or Foehr drive and of course the neighboring islands themselves are in good weather to touch. If you have seen enough, then just sit in the sand or lay down and enjoy the peace ...
