A very particular monument is the one in Piazza Cahen in Orvieto. The work of an artist from Orvieto, Angelo Cocchieri, who sculpted a Victory crowning dying soldiers, it was inaugurated by King Vittorio Emanuele III on November 25, 1928. It is called the Altar of the Five Hundred because that is the estimated number of Orvieto fallen.

The curiosity of this monument is that the names of the fallen in the list, unfortunately difficult to read especially in the upper part, are rigorously categorized.
