Geodetic Center of the Canton of Zurich

The geodetic center of the canton of Zurich is in Brütten (center of official surveying). The geographical center of the canton of Zurich is above Wangen near Dübendorf (geometric center of gravity of the canton's area).

The place is beautifully laid out, there are always people there who sit on the benches for a long time and enjoy the landscape. A board explains the Alpine chain and you can hear the chatter of geese from down in the valley.

From the geodetic (measurement) center of the canton of Zurich, on a clear day you have a fantastic panoramic view of the Alps, from the Säntis via Mönch, Eiger and Jungfrau and even further into the Black Forest in the north. A panoramic board helps identify the peaks.
