The town hall on the Großer Markt, built in the mid-15th century, is considered a symbol of the prosperous Hanseatic city of Wesel due to its facade. The building was destroyed during the Second World War. The citizens' initiative Historisches Rathaus Wesel e.V. has reconstructed the facade with donations.
