    Mountaineering

The Guadiana (Rio Guadiana) is the fourth largest river in the Iberian Peninsula, after the Tagus, the Douro and the Ebro. It rises in the east of the autonomous region of Castile-La Mancha in Spain and flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Vila Real de Santo António on the border between the autonomous region of Andalusia and the Portuguese Algarve. It is 744 km long and forms part of the border between Spain and Portugal. Along the way it irrigates the Spanish cities of Mérida and Badajoz.
