The Trausnitz dam was started together with the Reisachwerk around 1951 and completed in 1956. The plant is a fine example of how, after many years, the pumped storage plant has moved indirectly into the landscape. And now it has become a great local recreation area. The reservoir is suitable for canoeing and swimming.
