Hiking Highlight
The Litermont is a mountain range through the Saarland, which is up to 414 meters high at its highest point. In the middle of the 19th century, a large cross was erected on the summit in honor of the former castle mistress Margarete von Litermont. The forged cross cost 150 thalers and was placed on the existing ceramic base during a ceremony.

Beautiful, easy to reach summit with summit cross.
You can either walk on fairly flat paths from the large parking lot here or choose steep, sometimes on stairs leading paths from the Devil's Gorge. And for very sporty there is below the summit cross a (actually unnecessary but fun) with ropes secured climbing passage over large boulders.

The summit cross (and also the sky ladder) should be taken with you on every tour! The view from here is very nice.

the original replica of an optical telegraph, it once belonged to the first optical state telegraph line of Germany (route Metz-Mainz, line length 225 km) to the system of Claude Chappe, which was built in 1813 on behalf of Emperor Napoleon.
The plant is based on historical construction plans and is ready for operation, so that the functioning of the telegraph can be demonstrated during a visit.

The summit of the Litermonts - beautiful views, rug benches, the telegraph, the willow dome. Junction of many hiking trails and also the crossroads of the surrounding villages. A "must" for hikers in Saarland, similar to the Schaumberg.
