Hannover Old Town

The pretty old town of Hannover is really worth seeing. At Christmas time spread over the streets of the extensive and very nice Christmas market. The Marktkirche is always open and heated in winter. In good weather, countless places out there have outdoor seating.

The historic old town of Hanover was located in the area between Leine, Friedrichswall, Georgstraße and Goethestraße. The bombing in World War II almost completely destroyed the historical old town development. Only in the area Kramerstraße (eg Broyhanhaus) and Burgstraße (including the oldest half-timbered house in the city) remained some half-timbered houses or were translocated to here. The destroyed during the war Aegidienkirche was not rebuilt, its ruins serve today as a memorial to the victims of wars and violence (Wikipedia).
