As a hiker, I found Ballsgrove Gate more of a residential entry point than a trailhead. It’s about 1.5 km from Drogheda’s centre... handy for starting a local walk, but there’s not much to see there itself.

If you're after scenic routes, I recommend heading to the Boyne Valley Trails or the Drogheda Steps Walk for better hiking and views. For a mix of history and a great view, Millmount Fort is also nearby and well worth the climb.
