The Stone Bridge is also called the Altwasserbrücke. However, while the bridge is hardly noticed, the sandstone figure that adorns the bridge is very noticeable. The figure of Saint Nepomuk was installed in 1996. Nepomuk is the patron saint of confessors and the saint of bridges. His grave in Prague Cathedral is adorned with a halo with five stars, which stand for the five letters of his last word: “tacui”, I was silent. In 1729 Nepomuk was founded by Pope Benedict XIII. canonized.
