Former (repurposed) Roman Catholic parish church, dedicated to St. Lambertus. The church is 43 metres long, 14 metres wide and 28 metres high inside. The dome has a height of 43 metres. The exterior of the church, built entirely in Kunrader stone on a profiled hardstone plinth, shows a mixture of stylistic features, with neo-Romanesque predominating, which is evident from the use of lesenes and round arch motifs.

The steps of the entrance portal are made of hardstone parts from the remains of the fortress, the large church doors from the hardwood of a German emergency bridge that washed ashore during the First World War.

The interior is built of marl. The St. Lambertus church has a composite Latin/Byzantine cross plan with a large crossing and various side chapels. The longitudinal axis has a basilica shape, the spatial effect in the church has the effect of a Roman-Byzantine central structure. Due to the relatively small side aisles, there was no divided, but one central space, formed by the nave, crossing, transept and choir. The semicircular apse on the north side can be reached from the raised choir.

Lambertus (also Lambrecht or Lampert) of Maastricht (also of Liège) must have been a native of Maastricht. He probably saw the light of day around 650 and was of noble birth. He received his education in the royal palace ('aula regia'), according to legend first with Saint Landoaldus († 668; feast day 19 March) and then under the supervision of Bishop Theodardus of Maastricht († ca 670; feast day 10 September).

The Sint-Lambertuskerk is a monumental church building on the edge of the centre of the Dutch city of Maastricht. The former Roman Catholic parish church is named after the originally Maastricht Saint Lambertus and currently serves as a home, laboratory space and cultural space. Wikipedia
