"As a bit of history, The PV Town Council renamed "Superstition Park" to "George Andersen Park" on Nov 29, 1990 in honor of George Andersen. Per a PV Tribune article published on Dec 5, 1990 and written by our very own Heidi Dahms Foster, Andersen "...was instrumental in starting Prescott Valley's Police Department, patrolling the streets with dog pal 'Buffy, and later in obtaining equipment, patrol cars and safety vests for officers; a long time Lions Club member; active in the Prescott Valley Food Bank; and many other charitable causes.

He is affectionately known throughout the valley as 'Crabby George.'"
