The ammunition cart is reminiscent of the ammunition field railway from World War II. The proximity to France caused the Nazis to build an ammunition field railway (1940-1945) from Hochstadt through the Bellheim forest to Knittelsheim in order to secure supplies from the largest ammunition depot "Monika". The light railroad was part of the west wall, but did not have the desired strategic success.
