In 1976, the artist Professor Blasius Spreng, who designed the carnival fountain in Mainz, among other things, designed the commercial fountain on the market square in Rüsselsheim. The trade association of 1888, which Adam Opel founded, made the implementation of this project possible. At the suggestion of Adam Heinrich Ender, the club's board member at the time, the six meter high fountain is adorned with 33 coats of arms of different guilds as well as various figures with a love of detail.
