Directly over the old, historic bridge, a staircase leads uphill on the left. It's easy to walk, and there are benches along the way for a rest. For the return journey, I recommend the idyllic forest path from the castle into the village of Igersheim. It's a pleasant walk through a nature reserve and lush meadows.
