At the end of the 19th century, a church in honor of the Apostle John the Theologian appeared at the famous porcelain factory of Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov in Dulevo, and the saint began to be considered the heavenly patron of this place. On October 9, the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of the Apostle John, and in Likino-Dulevo near Moscow - City Day.
When a brick church appeared in the neighboring village of Gora, the wooden one became unnecessary and in the mid-1880s the church in the village of Gora was dismantled and reassembled in Dulevo next to the factory. This took several years.
The owner of the porcelain factory Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov, despite the fact that he himself was an Old Believer, approved the purchase of the old mountain church and even donated land to the new Orthodox parish.
The stone Church of St. John the Theologian in Likino-Dulyovo was built in 1912-1917 according to the design of Leonid Mikhailovich Scherer, who was then the Vladimir diocesan architect. Construction slowed down significantly with the start of World War I, and then stopped altogether with the Bolsheviks coming to power. The building was generally finished, and the foundation for the bell tower was laid. Restoration of the church began after it was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1991.
The church building is a cultural heritage site and is under state protection.
