Peklo (German: Höllengrund, also Karbenschlucht) is the name given to the gorge-like, rocky valley of the Robečský potok (Robitzbach) stream near Česká Lípa (Böhmisch Leipa) in northern Bohemia (Czech Republic). Because of its primeval forest cover and unique flora and fauna, the valley, covering 67 hectares, was placed under state protection as a National Natural Monument in 1967.

Hiking

The best way to access the Peklo Gorge, also known as the "Valley of Hell," is via the village of Karba. This former summer resort is idyllically situated in the valley, which is spanned by a railway bridge. Several information panels (also in German) provide information about the village and the surrounding nature. It's a place well worth visiting, as it's not too crowded.
