The view from the highest platform is great, but not for people with vertigo, as the way up leads over lattice steps. Apart from that, the platforms swing a bit because they are attached to wire ropes.

"On the former heap of the Prosper mine in Bottrop there is probably the most unusual pyramid in the Ruhr area: the tetrahedron. What a fantastic view from the tetrahedron in Bottrop. With its height of 60 meters above the 90 meter high heap summit, it is a very impressive building. Even more impressive However, the view that you have from here over the Ruhr area - display boards show the way!
Almost 400 steps to the summit
The "Emscherblick heap event" was designed by the architect Prof. Dipl-Ing. designed by Wolfgang Christ. The tetrahedron was built in 1995. The tetrahedron in Bottrop 210 tons of steel and pipes with a length of 1.5 km were installed. The "Direttissima" with 387 steps or a small road that winds its way up the heap on Beckstraße in serpentines leads to the top of the heap. The 90 meter high heap was raised between 1969 and 1993 and then acquired by the KVR. Stockpile and Tetrahedron are a joint project of the International Building Exhibition Emscher Park (IBA), the Municipal Association of the Ruhr Area (KVR), Ruhrkohle AG and the city of Bottrop.
Incidentally, the tetrahedron is illuminated at night by a light installation by the artist Jürgen LIT Fischer and also offers unforgettable impressions and views of the brightly lit area, especially in the dark. And even if various media occasionally reported on extraterrestrial activities related to the tetrahedron, the alien figures in the barren scree landscape were demonstrably of human origin. Unfortunately, due to a provincial farce typical of the Ruhr area, the aliens made of stones were cleared on February 18, 2009 - the RVR, in contrast to numerous visitors, suddenly found no more understanding for the stone images that Fred Fischer from Bottrop had painstakingly built by hand between 2004 and the beginning of 2009.
Incidentally, next to the heap is the alpincenter Bottrop - the longest indoor ski slope in the world with a large outdoor high ropes course. There is also a summer toboggan run here." Source: ruhr-guide.de/freizeit/industriekultur/tetraeder-bottrop/1964,0,0.html
