Tips
Cast in 1875 and installed in Victoria Tower in 1877, the bell fell from the tower in the Centre Block fire of 1916. It is one of the few remaining links to Canada's first parliament building.
The monument stands on a circular granite base engraved with the face of a clock to illustrate the bell's role in timekeeping. The bell stands on an inclined plane, reminiscent of its position in the ground after it fell from the tower.translated by
