Wind and tides give the Wadden Sea its wild beauty and dynamism. The mosaic of mudflats, tidal creeks, and sandbanks is a paradise for millions of birds and many specialized animal and plant species. In the middle of it, inextricably linked to the Wadden Sea, lie the Halligen islands and the island of Pellworm – a unique natural and cultural area.
Pellworm offers pure North Sea charm: Behind high dikes, sheep and cattle graze on fertile marshland, while oystercatchers and avocets build their nests in the meadows. All this, of course, is dotted with a lighthouse.
