The Bürgenstock Rock Trail begins in the canton of Nidwalden on the Bürgenstock and leads to the Hammetschwand lift. This lift takes you to the top of the mountain, where a restaurant is also located, for a fee.

The lift costs 15 Swiss francs one way for adults. Half-fare travelcards, GA passes, etc. are not valid.

The Rock Trail continues to the Känzeli viewpoint, and from there you can also climb the Hammetschwand (canton of Lucerne).

The Rock Trail is 5 km long and has an elevation gain of approximately 190 meters.

The trail is accessible from May to October. However, before attempting the Rock Trail, you should check the website felsenweg.ch to see if it is accessible all the way. Today, August 5, 2025, the second section (from the Hammetschwand lift) was closed due to a landslide. Unfortunately, this was not indicated on the website either.

The rock path and especially the view are definitely worth a visit.
