Fabulous views of Easterside and Hawnby Hills to the northeast, and some very peaceful and picturesque public footpaths and bridleways through Peak Scar Wood and Gowerdale Wood to the north. If you are planning on hiking through Gowerdale Wood, then do not let Komoot route you, check that your route follows the public footpath marked on Ordnance Survey maps. Reason is that although the wide and easy forest track up the centre of Gower Dale looks accessible, there are several areas where forestry operations have resulted in massive tangles of felled trees and the route may be blocked (was in spring 2025).
