This dam lies at an altitude of 1,293 meters, in a glacial basin between Pizzo Camino (2,491 m) and Monte Mignone (1,742 m). The reservoir collects the waters of the Lovareno stream, while the outflow is the San Fiorino stream, which flows downstream.
