The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza in Huesa was built in the 18th century, at the initiative of the arzobispo of Toledo, D. Francisco Antonio de Lorenzana y Buitrón, in 1778. The church was built on the site of an old cave where the sacred image of Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza was venerated. The church played an important role in the religious and social life of the community, with the foundation of the Hermandad del Santísimo Sacramento in 1779, which was dedicated to charitable work.
